Small Caliber Bullets

Our small caliber bullets are manufactured to exacting standard, using only the finest materials, for the ultimate in performance on both target and game. Featuring the famous J4 jacket for extreme precision and concentricity. We incorporate a special lead alloy core, developed to prevent the core slippage, and bullet "bend" that can occur in other bullets with high velocities and severe rotational torque.
The 17 calibers feature a sleek 8s ogive, and were designed to provide the best balance of bearing surface, length-to-weight, and stability. So what's that mean? Well, take our 27 grain FBOT for instance. It can be usually be pushed at the same speed as the more standard 25 grain designs on the market while still maintaining normal pressures -because the bearing surface is actually a bit shorter than many of those lighter bullets. The heavier bullet at the same speed means improved downrange velocity and energy retention and improved performance!
Our 30 and 32 grain offerings can turn even the small cased 17's into superior varmint hunting lasers. A lot of shooters like to trash the 17's as terrible wind-buckers or poor long range performers. Usually you'll hear the same old tired myths bantered that have been bantered about for years. But the truth is entirely different! Our heavier bullets offer high b.c.'s and sectional density - often much higher than many traditional varmint calibers. This means they will perform better in the wind, and shoot flatter than their larger cousins!!! This while burning less powder, producing less recoil, and providing you with more bang for your buck! Just take a look at the chart:
  Cartridge  223 Rem 22.250 Rem   220 Swift 6 mm Rem   17 MachIV
Bullet 40 gr.  55 gr.  55gr.   70gr. 30gr.

As you can see, even the realativly tiny 17 Mach IV can stand neck and neck with it's larger cousins, while buring far less powder - And generating far less recoil. Sound like just the thing for a long day on the prarie dog town?
At the same time the bullets are as easy to work with. Although our bullets offer maximized performance,  we didn't resort to the various gimmicks and trick designing styles that are often used to lure in shooters these days. Ultra long and sleek looking profiles, with catchy monikers and fancy tails, may make a bullet look like a guided missile. But, it doesn't do you a bit of good if the bullet if too extreme to reliably stabilize, or too complicated to hold together at high speed. We eliminated the problems inherent in the more extreme styles, while still providing exceptional down range performance.
Every thing that can be said about our 17's applies to our 20 caliber offerings and then some! We use the proven J4, and our proprietary cores of course. But we incorporate an even more streamlined 10s ogive for superior long range performance. As with their smaller cousins, our 20's can often be pushed at higher speeds bullet for bullet due to the perfected combination of length and bearing surface, while still being well balanced and easy to work with in virtually any case and rifling combination.
Our 20 caliber bullets up to 45 grains were designed to function and perform in the standard factory rifling twist of 1-12". There have been a lot of reports about bullets of 40 grains sometimes not working in the factor 204 Ruger cartridge. We're not exactly sure what's going on here but it would appear that there could be some inherent problem with the bullets in question. Our bullets were worked out with the 204 Ruger in mind and have been thoroughly tested and proved to stabilize and perform to perfection.
Above 45 grains, you'll find our 50, 52.5, and 60 grain designs. These will require a 1-9" twist to stabilize correctly. So equipped these will really make a 20 caliber rifle shine! Their heavy weight and sleek design provide extreme downrange performance rarely rivaled by other small bore calibers.
In our online store you'll find more details on these fine bullets. But, we would like to point out that we are prepared to offer a full range of custom services for the sub-caliber shooter, hunter, or wildcatter looking for something a bit different. We can combine heavy and ultra heavy drawn jackets, core bonding, and other techniques to make you a truly special product.
